If you are checking out our website chances are you are looking for a local church. Our vision is to be a diverse body of Christ followers who exist to glorify God through a simple expression of church, with an emphasis on proclaiming and manifesting the kingdom of God by making disciples. That is a mouthful, but what does it mean?
We seek a simple expression of church. While we believe there are many ways for a local church to express itself during worship services, we are striving to simplify how we approach our times of corporate worship. We utilize acoustic music that is conducive to congregational singing. We also embrace liturgical elements of the service that connect us to the historic church. Our corporate worship includes the public reading of scripture from the Old and New Testaments, prayer for the church, teaching of the Word, all culminating in a weekly observance of the Lord's Table.
Being the church involves much more than what we do when we gather on Sunday mornings. If our worship is genuine it will permeate our lives. Our desire to live lives of obedience to the Lord leads us to proclaim and manifest the gospel of the kingdom. We do this by being and making disciples. A disciple is someone who identifies with Christ through repentance of sin and a proclamation of faith. Repentance and faith are made public through believer's baptism, but this is not the end. A disciple obeys all that Christ commanded, he/she manifests the kingdom of God in every area of life.
We understand discipleship as a journey. While communicating biblical truth is essential, it is not the primary end of discipleship. The goal of discipleship is greater obedience to King Jesus. As our model for mission, Jesus clearly demonstrated that we make disciples in the context of community. Rather than operating elaborate programs we seek to foster community and equip the saints for the work of the ministry. We have opportunities to serve as a body but our emphasis is on sending the body into the community to exercise gifts and engage in mission.
